OUR STORY

For the past 14 years JMU's Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority co-hosts Paul's Walk with Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Each year the group of students strive to raise more funds then the past years in support  of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Through donations and support of family members, friends, and the JMU community, we have raised over $50,000. This year our goal is to raise $5,000.This event that is very close to our hearts was founded in honor of Paul Massey, father to Peter (JMU, Pi Kappa Phi ’05) who lost his life after a five-year battle with the disease.

If you are unfamiliar with ALS, it is a disease that damages the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord that controls muscle movement. There is no cure for this devastating disease, but throughout the era of the ice bucket challenge new research has been discovered. This is why the donations cannot stop there.
